More About Me

I grew up in Chula Vista, California — or ‘Chulajuana’ as the locals call it due to its proximity to the Tijuana border. I spent my weekends making and selling stationary at the park, or in my treehouse where I wrote poems and musicals as part of my self-created writers’ group innocently called, The Thorny Girls. I sang and danced my way through the teen years doing musicals alongside Adam Lambert (the Danny Zuko to my Marty Maraschino), and was voted ‘Most Likely to Write a Commercial Jingle’ (our high school’s spinoff superlatives for kids who weren’t deemed ‘Most Likely to be Famous’ or ‘Prettiest Eyes’).

After graduating from UCSB with a degree in Film and Media Studies and Communication, I moved to LA where working in entertainment allowed me to learn storytelling from the greats, while slowly pigeon-holing myself as a TV writers’ assistant. I was stuck in a creative-adjacent position with no real room for growth and my creativity began to atrophy.

Eventually, the franchised show I was working on got canceled and I was re-introduced to the wonderful world of marketing and copywriting. I quickly took all the lessons and tactics I learned inside the television writers room and began to apply those skill sets to brand storytelling, content creation and copywriting… and it’s going pretty darn well.

I’m currently writing a book, mentoring screenwriters who want to learn the ropes of marketing and brand storytelling, and accepting cool new clients who think a team of screenwriters might be able to help optimize their brand story and connect with customers on a deeper level.
